titleOfInvention Method for expressing optical anisotropy of polymer film, method for aligning lyotropic liquid crystal, alignment dye film, and method for manufacturing alignment dye film
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreactive polymer film efficiently exhibiting optical anisotropy by a photo-reorientation phenomenon, and to use this to align a lyotropic liquid crystal, and to provide an alignment dye. Form a film. SOLUTION: By irradiating a linearly polarized light to a photoreactive polymer film having a photoreactive group in a side chain or a main chain, the direction of the transition moment of the photoreactive polymer is changed. This causes light reorientation in which the orientation direction of the molecular axis is preferentially rearranged in the direction perpendicular to the irradiation polarization axis. At this time, the irradiation amount of the linearly polarized light is set so that the two-color ratio, which is the ratio of the absorbance of the monitor linearly polarized light parallel to the polarization axis and the absorbance of the monitor linearly polarized light perpendicular to the polarization axis, is substantially saturated.
