PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 2-chloromethylbenzyl cyanide in high yield and high purity by an industrially advantageous method. SOLUTION: By reacting 2-methylbenzyl cyanide with inexpensive and easily available chlorine, 2-chloromethylbenzyl cyanide can be produced at low cost and high yield. |
