abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a femoral prosthesis in which the connection is made along a spherical surface of about 22.22 mm and which achieves a breaking resistance equal to at least 46 kN. A thigh head (11) fittable on a thigh rod (12) fixed to a femur of a patient, and a cap (13) fixed to the pelvis of the patient, wherein the head is provided inside the cap. It is rotatably slidably supported in the provided recess. The thigh head has a spherical outer surface formed at least on the outside of a ceramic material and having a diameter equal to about 22 mm, and the cap has a spherical inner surface formed at least on the inside of the material and having a diameter equal to about 22 mm.
