abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To establish a new means for grasping the state of arteriosclerosis of a subject, which is free from defects such as lack of accuracy and complexity, and to establish a new method of arteriosclerosis. Provide a detection method. SOLUTION: Accumulation of saturated very long chain fatty acids represented by hexacosanoic acid (C26: 0) in cell membranes, especially in erythrocyte membranes, is caused by the above serum lipid abnormalities such as hyper total cholesterolemia, obesity and smoking. And the index using this saturated very long chain fatty acid is less affected by the subject's short-term diet, etc., and is an index for understanding the ideal state of arteriosclerosis. I found that I got it. Utilizing this knowledge, in a sample containing a cell membrane, preferably an erythrocyte membrane, a saturated long-chain fatty acid such as hexacosanoic acid is quantified, and this quantified value is associated with arteriosclerosis, and the arteriosclerosis of the sample provider is determined. It has been found that the above problem can be solved by providing a method for detecting arteriosclerosis that grasps the state. |
