(57) [Summary] [Problem] Calmodulin isoform of soybean (SC) aM) To provide transgenic plants transformed with the gene and exhibiting greatly enhanced resistance to a wide range of plant pathogens, and their plant cells. SOLUTION: The present invention provides an expression vector having an SCaM gene and a host cell into which the gene in the expression vector has been introduced in order to produce a pathogen-resistant plant. Transformed plants that express heterologous SCaM exhibit increased resistance to fungi, bacteria and viruses that normally infect plants. |
