titleOfInvention | Photo-fixing composition using fixing agent mixture and rapid processing method |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable fixing of a photographic element by removing undesirable dye stains and enabling quick fixing. SOLUTION: A color photographic silver halide element such as a color film can be rapidly fixed by using a fixing composition containing a mixture of thiosulfate and thiocyanate fixing agents in a specific amount and a molar ratio. The composition also contains predominantly ammonium cations (at least 55 mol%). The fixing compositions of the present invention not only remove silver effectively and quickly (less than 60 seconds), but also minimize residual dye contamination by sensitizing dye aggregates in the photographic element. |
