abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing a composite film provided with a coating film having a uniform thickness in a width direction by die coating in a film production line. SOLUTION: When applying a coating liquid to at least one surface of a running plastic film in a film production line by a die coater, a die of the coater is provided between a pair of guide rolls, and between the guide roll and the die. A means is provided for displacing both ends of the film running outside the coating width to the opposite side of the die, and the distance d (mm) between the center of the means and the center of the die slit, the width of the two ends of the film displaced by the means a composite film characterized by applying a coating liquid such that w (mm) and a displacement amount δ (mm) for displacing both ends of the film to the opposite side of the die by the means satisfy a specific relationship.
