titleOfInvention | Image sheet width measuring method and apparatus |
abstract | (57) Abstract: An apparatus and a method for measuring an image width are provided. A processed sheet of photographic film (58) is directed to a channel (36) of a scanning device (12), Here, the sheet is exposed to the light of an elongated fluorescent lamp (42). Light passing through the film (58) is detected by a scanning device in the form of an elongated solar cell strip (46). The strip (46) is cut so as to be split into three small auxiliary sensors (54) and four larger sensors (52), which make up the main light sensor (56). The leading edge of the film (58), which is considered to have a uniform optical density, When entering 6) and completely blocking at least one of the auxiliary sensors (54), the sensors measure the transmittance of the film (58). With this value, along with the decrease in light detected by the main sensor (56), the width of the film (58) is measured. |
