(57) [Summary] [Problem] To provide a new insulin-like peptide. SOLUTION: The genome project information of C. elegans was searched based on the sequence of the Bombyxin A chain of the insulin family peptide of Bombyx mori, and two types of highly homologous sequences were found. Next, based on that sequence, C. elegans mRNA 5 ′ / 3′RACE was performed to isolate cDNA encoding the insulin-like peptide precursor. The amino acid sequence is deduced from the nucleotide sequence of cDNA, and these precursors are Chain, C-peptide, and A chain. Furthermore, the structure of the insulin-like peptide was identified and the higher order structure was modeled, and compared with the higher order structure of the insulin-related peptide in mammals. |
