abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method capable of synthesizing a pyrazolotriazole-based dye-forming coupler in a single reaction medium. SOLUTION: In a single reaction medium, a nitro-substituted aromatic compound NO 2 -Ar is reacted with a compound of structural formula IV in the presence of a formate to obtain a compound of structural formula I; (Where Ar, R 1 , R 2 , X, Y are as defined in the specification), wherein the nitro-substituted aromatic compound is converted to the corresponding aromatic amine, which is then converted to the single medium Reacting with the compound of the structural formula IV without being isolated from the compound.
