abstract |
(57) Abstract: A hydroxyalkyl compound capable of increasing the reaction conversion of methyl acrylate, appropriately controlling the conversion of alkanediol, and maximizing the amount of hydroxyalkyl acrylate that is a monoester compound. Provided is a method for producing an acrylate. In producing a hydroxyalkyl acrylate by subjecting an alkanediol having 2 to 10 carbon atoms to a transesterification reaction with methyl acrylate in the presence of a catalyst, the amount of methyl acrylate used relative to the alkanediol compound is reduced to 0. The reaction is carried out by removing the by-produced methanol as an azeotropic mixture by reactive distillation in the presence of an azeotropic solvent with methanol in an amount of 0.5 to 2 times the molar amount. |
