PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycyclic carbocyclic ring in which two or three non-aromatic carbocyclic rings share two carbon atoms, respectively, and to polymerize the carbon atom at the bonding position. A novel alicyclic ester compound having an unsaturated carboxylic acid acyloxy group bonded thereto is obtained. SOLUTION: The following formula (1) or (2): (Wherein, ring A, ring B, ring C, ring D and ring E each represent a non-aromatic carbocyclic ring, R represents a polymerizable unsaturated group, R a1 , R b1 and R c1 are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom, A hydroxyl group optionally protected by a protecting group or RC A polymerizable alicyclic ester represented by an O 2 group (R represents the same as described above). Ring A, ring B, ring C, ring D and ring E Is, for example, a cyclopentane ring, a cyclohexane ring, and a bridged ring, respectively.
