abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a disk drive device, an error recovery processing method for the disk drive device, and a disk drive control device, which can prevent a reduction in recording capacity and improve reliability. SOLUTION: When recording / reproduction by a recording / reproduction unit 4 is not normally completed, a control unit 3 executes an error recovery process. When an error is not recovered by this, after a standby for a predetermined time, the control unit 3 performs an error recovery process. Recording / reproducing is performed again on the area where the error has occurred, and if the error is still not recovered, the area where the error has occurred is temporarily registered as an error area.
