titleOfInvention | Optical pickup device |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform recording / reproducing on a plurality of types of optical recording media having different thicknesses of substrates present on a light beam incident side by using a light beam having a shorter wavelength as the substrate is thinner. In the optical pickup described above, the spot diameter formed on the recording surface of the optical recording medium is reduced at both short and long wavelengths. SOLUTION: In an optical path from a light source to an optical recording medium, there is at least one optical element having a selective transmission region having different transmittance depending on the wavelength, and all the optical elements are arranged in the optical path direction from the recording surface of the optical recording medium. When viewed in a superimposed manner, a short-wavelength selective transmission region in which the transmittance of short-wavelength light is higher than the transmittance of long-wavelength light and a transmittance of long-wavelength light in a region corresponding to the cross section of the light beam. An optical pickup device in which a long-wavelength selective transmission region having a transmittance higher than the transmittance exists, and the short-wavelength selective transmission region exists outside the long-wavelength selective region. |
