abstract | (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To improve the water resistance of images and characters recorded on recording paper by coating onto plain paper and coated paper, and to improve the water content of cationic resin from inkjet recording paper. Provided are a water resistance improver for ink jet recording paper and an ink jet recording paper, which have little elution to the ink. (A) epihalohydrin, (B) ammonia, A primary amine or a secondary amine, (C) an amine compound having two or more amino groups, and (D) a tertiary amine obtained by reacting with a general formula [1] or a general formula [2]. A water-resistant improver for ink-jet recording paper, comprising a cationic resin having a structural unit represented by the following formula and having at least one terminal of a structure represented by the general formula [3]: Inkjet recording paper coated with a performance improver.
