abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive thermosensitive recording material having excellent thermal responsiveness, less fogging of the background, and low cost. A thermosensitive recording material comprising a support and a thermosensitive coloring layer containing a colorless or pale-colored leuco dye at room temperature, an organic acidic substance which reacts with the leuco dye by heating to form a color, and a sensitizer. Wherein at least one carboxylic acid compound as an organic acidic substance and at least one sulfonyl hydrazide derivative represented by the following general formula (1) as a sensitizer are contained in the thermosensitive coloring layer.
