titleOfInvention | New nacre matrix protein and its gene |
abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a novel nacre matrix protein and a gene encoding the same. SOLUTION: By purifying an alkali-soluble organic substrate component from a nacre of a pearl oyster shell, a 14 kD And a novel nacre matrix protein which has a molecular weight of 17 kD and does not exist in the trabecula but only in the nacre is obtained. Using an oligonucleotide corresponding to the N-terminal amino acid sequence of this protein as a probe, a gene for a novel nacre matrix protein is cloned from a cDNA library prepared from the oyster mantle tissue. |
