(57) [Problem] To provide a composite semipermeable membrane useful for selective separation of a liquid mixture, particularly for removing an electrolyte in an aqueous solution having a low salt concentration, by introducing a quaternary nitrogen atom into a separation membrane. The manufacturing method is provided. An ultrathin layer having a crosslinked polyamide is formed on a microporous support membrane, and a compound having a quaternary nitrogen atom and having at least two reactive functional groups is formed on the crosslinked polyamide.
