abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] A large MO by reducing the number of uranium fuel rods containing burnable poisons to the required minimum while achieving high burnup Provided is a MOX fuel assembly capable of securing the X fuel loading rate and reducing the number of types of MOX fuel rod enrichment to reduce the molding cost. In a MOX fuel assembly, a MOX fuel rod filled with plutonium oxide and uranium oxide is provided. (Fuel rod symbols 1, 2 and 3) and first fuel rods 2 (fuel rod symbols 4) filled with uranium oxide and containing gadolinia and arranged at four corners of a square lattice-like arrangement and a square. The gadolinia-containing uranium fuel rods 2 including the second fuel rods 2 (fuel rod symbols 5) arranged at the grid positions at the midpoints of the four sides formed by the outermost peripheral portions of the grid-like arrangement are arranged in nine rows and nine rows. Arrange them in a square grid of rows.
