titleOfInvention Method for producing terbium-activated yttrium aluminate phosphor
abstract [57] [Abstract] [Purpose] Narrow particle size distribution, few agglomerated particles, excellent spherical shape, suitable for forming uniform and dense high-brightness fluorescent films such as cathode ray tubes, fluorescent lamps, PDPs, and FEDs. Another object of the present invention is to provide a method for inexpensively producing a terbium-activated yttrium aluminate phosphor having a high purity, a uniform chemical composition, and excellent light emission characteristics. An aqueous solution containing yttrium, aluminum and terbium is prepared, and the aqueous solution is dropped into a pyrolysis reactor together with a carrier gas. After heating at a temperature in the range of 00 to 1750 ° C. for a residence time in the range of 1 second to 10 minutes, it is further heated to 1050 to 1750 ° C. A terbium-activated yttrium aluminate phosphor characterized by reheating at a temperature of 0.1 seconds to 24 hours.
