abstract | (57) [Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal element having good reflectance characteristics. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a polymer-dispersed liquid crystal element is as follows. First, a polymerizable compound, a low-molecular liquid crystal, and a polymerization initiator of a polymerizable group are mixed to prepare a polymerizable composition, and the mixture is injected into a cell 12. I do. When the cell 12 is irradiated with the laser interference light 11, the polymerizable compound is cured in a region where the amplitude of the laser interference light 11 is large, and the polymer layer 9 having a low refractive index is formed. In a region where the amplitude of the laser interference light 11 is small, polymerization phase separation occurs, and the polymer dispersed liquid crystal layer 10 having a high refractive index is formed. Here, the temperature of the polymerizable composition at the time of irradiation with the laser interference light 11 is controlled to a value immediately above the liquid crystal phase-isotropic phase transition temperature of the polymerizable composition. |
