titleOfInvention Electrophotographic apparatus and electrophotographic method
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic apparatus and an electrophotographic method capable of preventing a fluctuation of a dot diameter due to a fluctuation of laser emission, which enables a pixel to have a small diameter and a high image quality. An electrophotographic apparatus provided with an optical scanning device that deflects a light beam by entering a rotating polygon mirror. An Si photoreceptor is used, and the light beam diameter D of the reflecting surface of the rotating polygon mirror and the width W in the main scanning direction of the facing surface of the rotating polygon mirror are set to "3. 0 ≧ D / W ≧ 1.5 ”, and the light intensity at the foot of the light intensity distribution is changed by using only the relatively stable light intensity near the center of the spot light intensity distribution. An electrophotographic apparatus and an electrophotographic method which are less likely to affect potential fluctuations (fluctuations in dot diameter) and can form a stable dot latent image.
