titleOfInvention | Ink jet method with improved gradation range |
abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printing method capable of giving a maximum density higher than 3.0 by using a normal liquid ink, which is particularly suitable for reproducing medical diagnostic information. Disclosed is a method for producing continuous tone images, for example, for medical diagnostic purposes, with the maximum transmission density that can be obtained in the visible region greater than 3.0 using ink jets on a transparent receiving material. I do. The method comprises an ink receiving layer, a transparent support and a backing layer, wherein the ink receiving layer comprises at least one N-containing polymer, preferably gelatin, as a binder and an average size greater than 1 μm. Ink-jetting a combination of at least one liquid black pigmented ink and at least one liquid gray ink to a transparent receiver substantially free of particles having the formula: Preferably, the transparent receiver exhibits a haze value of 10-20% as determined according to standard test ASTM D 1003, due to the presence of the spacing agent in the backing layer. |
