abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially easy production method capable of producing acyloxybenzoic acid in a selective, high yield and inexpensive manner. SOLUTION: The carboxylic acid halide represented by the general formula (1) and the hydroxybenzoic acid represented by the general formula (2) are subjected to an esterification reaction, and the esterification reaction is repeated to obtain a compound represented by the general formula (3). A method for continuously producing the acyloxybenzoic acid represented by the formula (4), wherein the esterification reaction is carried out in the presence of a carboxylic acid represented by the general formula (4), and the reaction solution after the esterification reaction is subjected to crystallization treatment. Then, the acyloxybenzoic acid of the general formula (3) is filtered off, and an acid halogenating agent is added to the mother liquor containing the acyloxybenzoic acid of the general formula (5) and the carboxylic acid of the general formula (4). To convert the carboxylic acid represented by the general formula (4) into the carboxylic acid halide represented by the general formula (1), and then use the carboxylic acid for the next esterification reaction by recycling.
