abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a method for producing an optically active bicycloheptenone. SOLUTION: General formula [4] (Wherein, M represents a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom), and a bicycloheptenone represented by the general formula [1] is reacted with brucine. (Wherein, * represents an asymmetric carbon atom, and M represents the same meaning as described above), and an optically active complex [3] comprising brucine and an optically active bicycloheptenone is obtained. A process for producing optically active bicycloheptenones [1], characterized by decomposing [3].
