abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having excellent characteristics by uniformly and efficiently drying wet toner particles obtained by a direct polymerization method while removing unreacted polymerizable monomers. To provide a method for producing a toner which can be easily obtained. SOLUTION: A polymerizable monomer composition containing at least a polymerizable monomer and a colorant is polymerized in an aqueous medium, After the colored polymer particles are formed, the wet colored polymer particles obtained by washing and dehydration are dried using hot air to obtain a colored weight having a water content of 0.1% or more and less than 1.0%. After the combined particles, an external additive is added to the colored polymer particles, and while stirring these, the remaining amount of the unreacted polymerizable monomer remaining in the colored polymer particles is reduced to 200 ppm or less. A method for producing a toner, comprising drying under reduced pressure until a toner is obtained. |
