titleOfInvention Antimicrobial plastic and method for producing the same
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide an antibacterial plastic capable of exhibiting excellent antibacterial properties without deteriorating the transparency even if the target product is a transparent body. SOLUTION: An antimicrobial plastic is obtained by adding an aminoglycoside compound having antibacterial properties soluble in the vinyl monomer to a vinyl monomer and polymerizing the obtained aminoglycoside compound-containing vinyl monomer. The antimicrobial plastic having various physical properties can be obtained by copolymerizing the above-mentioned aminoglycoside compound-containing vinyl monomer with another vinyl monomer. Since this antibacterial plastic dissolves an aminoglycoside compound in a vinyl monomer, it has a great feature that, unlike a conventional antibacterial plastic in which an inorganic antibacterial agent is blended into a polymer, transparency is not reduced.
