Human hematopoietic stem cells |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide human hematopoietic stem cells by separating stem cells from cells reserved for a specific use. The stem cells can then be maintained by regenerating in a suitable growth medium. Means are provided for assaying stem cells for the ability to produce each member of the hematopoietic lineage. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a cell composition containing human hematopoietic stem cells, which are substantially free of lineage-associated cells and can self-renew and differentiate into members of the lymphoid, erythroid and myeloid monocyte hematopoietic lineages. Is done. |
