titleOfInvention Method for producing β-alkoxypropionaldehyde
abstract (57) [Problem] As a method for producing β-alkoxypropionaldehyde by reacting an alcohol with acrolein, complicated post-treatments such as deactivation of a catalyst, separation operation, and separation and removal of water after the reaction are completed. To provide a method in which a target substance can be obtained only by a simple distillation operation without performing it. SOLUTION: An addition reaction of alcohol to acrolein is performed using a carboxylic acid type weakly acidic cation exchange resin as a catalyst.
