(57) [Problem] To provide a method for treating regenerated collagen fiber which has low water absorption, has excellent tactile sensation when wet, and is capable of chemically modifying a carboxyl group. SOLUTION: By performing treatment with a halogenated aldehyde, it is possible to obtain a regenerated collagen fiber having reduced water absorption and excellent wet feel. In addition, the regenerated collagen fiber can be chemically modified to a carboxyl group in collagen, and by introducing a disulfide bond, can be made into a fiber that can be subjected to permanent wave treatment and has significantly improved water absorption. |
