SOLUTION: The method for introducing a carboxyl group of the present invention comprises: The object is contacted with a solution containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of halogen acetic acid, halogen acetate, halogen propionic acid, and halogen propionate, and by applying energy to these, the object is treated. In this method, a carboxyl group is introduced into the treated product.
