PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a film having a uniform thickness without surface defects under high productivity by cooling a polyester melt film in close contact with a rotating drum. SOLUTION: A method for producing a film of an aromatic polyester by extruding a molten film of a thermoplastic aromatic polyester onto a rotary cooling drum, bringing the film into close contact and cooling, A quaternary phosphonium salt of sulfonic acid having an ester-forming functional group of 0.1 to 45 mmol% based on the bifunctional carboxylic acid component is added to the aromatic polyester after the polymerization reaction, and the value of the AC volume resistivity of the molten film is changed. This is achieved by a method of electrostatic pinning using an aromatic polyester of 6.5 × 10 8 Ω · cm or less. |
