(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for producing an isochromanone derivative in a shorter step than an indanone derivative such as 2-indanone in a high yield. The isochromanone derivative is produced by Bayer-Villiger oxidation of an indanone derivative in an aprotic polar solvent such as N, N-dimethylformamide using an alkali persulfate such as ammonium persulfate as an oxidizing agent. |
