abstract (57) [Summary] [PROBLEMS] To provide a mastitis diagnostic apparatus capable of easily and reliably diagnosing the degree of enhancement from bacterial invasion of mastitis to severe mastitis. SOLUTION: A mastitis enhancement degree data storage unit 80 stores in advance a correspondence relationship between a weak light amount of chemiluminescence when phagocytic leukocytes engulf bacteria in milk under certain conditions and the degree of mastitis enhancement by bacteria. In addition, the photodetector 41a detects a weak light amount of chemiluminescent phagocytic leukocytes in milk under certain conditions, and extracts and converts the light based on the detected weak light amount. The mastitis enhancement degree storage unit 80 is referred to in step 3 to diagnose the mastitis enhancement degree corresponding to the light amount, and outputs the diagnosed mastitis enhancement degree by the output unit 30.
