abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently obtaining high-purity adamantanol useful as a raw material of a resist material for a semiconductor. SOLUTION: A sublimable adamantanol such as 1-adamantanol or an alkoxide of the sublimable adamantanol is converted to a carboxylic acid compound such as acetic acid; an ester compound such as methyl acetate; an acid anhydride such as acetic anhydride. An alcohol-reactive compound such as a compound or a carboxyl such as ethyl chloroformate. After reacting with a alkoxide-reactive compound such as a silane compound such as trimethylsilyl chloride, etc. to obtain a meltable adamantanol derivative, the obtained meltable adamantanol derivative is purified by distillation. The meltable adamantanol derivative purified by distillation is converted to the sublimable adamantanol by a hydrolysis method or the like. |
