titleOfInvention 3D display device
abstract (57) [Problem] To provide a stereoscopic display device capable of visually recognizing an image on a projection screen as a clear stereoscopic image and preventing occurrence of flicker in a display image. A liquid crystal shutter 3 that operates in synchronization with time-division switching between a left-eye image and a right-eye image is provided. The liquid crystal shutter 3 is disposed between the projection screen 5 and the projection type display device 2, and is composed of a polarizing plate 3a located on the projection type display device side and a liquid crystal composed of a smectic liquid crystal showing an electric field response located on the projection screen side. It has a configuration having a panel 3b. The response time of the liquid crystal shutter 3 driven in synchronization with the switching of each image is set to be 1/5 or less of one frame time in the projection display device.
