abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a transparent and clear hue ink when used for various inks, and particularly low viscosity and clear when used for a liquid type ink. Disclosed are a soluble azo pigment capable of producing an ink having a good hue and a good gloss, a method for producing the same, and a printing ink. SOLUTION: A monoazo lake pigment obtained by coupling and laking a diazo component of an aromatic amine other than the following having a soluble group and at least one kind of coupler selected from β-oxynaphthoic acid, bon-amide and naphthol AS. A monoazo lake pigment composition comprising (a) and a monoazo lake pigment (b) obtained by coupling and laking a diazotized product of altanylic acid and at least one type of coupler described above.
