abstract An aminosulfenyl chloride derivative represented by the formula (I): <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 and R2 are defined in the specification, which is useful as an intermediate for the preparation of a carbamate derivative represented by the formula (III): <IMAGE> (III) wherein R1 and R2 are the same as defined above, the carbamate derivative having an insecticidal, miticidal or nematocidal activity, is disclosed. A process for preparing the aminosulfenyl chloride of the formula (I), and a process for preparing the carbamate derivative of the formula (III) using the aminosulfenyl chloride of the formula (I) are also disclosed.
