abstract | Compounds of formula (I) (FORMULA I) are described in which each group B is, independently, a naturally present or modified heterocyclic base linked through a nitrogen or a carbon atom of the ring to the sugar part; each group X is independently a hydrogen, a fluorine, a hydroxyl or an alkoxy group from C to C6; each Y group is independently a hydrogen, a sulfhydryl or a hydroxyl, and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts. A process for their preparation and preparation of pharmaceutical compositions which comprise them are also described. The compounds of this invention can be useful as antivirals, in particular as anti-HIV agents (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), i.e. as drugs to be used against AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) therapeutically and / or prophylactically. |
