titleOfInvention NITROGEN HETEROCYCLIC DERIVATIVES THERAPEUTIC ADAPTITY, PROCESSES FOR THEIR PREPARATION AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THESE DERIVATIVES
abstract Heterocyclic cpds. of formula (I) and their pharmaceutically acceptable derivs. are new. (where one adjacent pair of R5-R8 gps. forms a -CZC(G1)=C(G2)-Z- chain, and R4,R9 and the other R5-R8 gps. are H, halogen, alkyl, alkenyl, NO2, NR1R2, OR3, S(O)nR3, or alkyl substd. by OH, NH2, alkoxy or carbonyloxy(sic). n=O, 1 or 2. R1 and R2 are H alkyl, CONHR3, or phenyl opt. substd. by alkyl or halogen, or NR1R2 is a 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic gp. R3 is H, alkyl alkenyl or phenyl. One of G1 and G2 is H and the other is E. where E is COOH, tetrazol-5-yl or a gp. of formula: where R10 and R11 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, phenylalkyl, alkanoyl or alkoxycarbonyl, provided that R10 is H when R11 is H. Each Z is independently O or S. One or two of a-d are N and the others are C, with the proviso that when a=b=c=C and d=N, R4 cannot be OH para to the N atom when (i) E is ortho to the N atom and comprises COOH, tetrazol-5-yl or unsubstd. (tetrazol-5-yl) carbamoyl, (ii) R9=H, (iii) G1=H and G2=E, (iv) R5-R8 are H, halogen, OH, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or NR1R2 and (V) either Z gp. is O). Cpds. (I) are antiallergic agents useful for treating a wide range of disorders associated with antigen-antibody reactions or excessive mucus secretion.
