abstract Compsns. (A) in unit dose form contain one or more anti-osteoporosity agents (I) and also a biologue (II) of disodium chromoglycate. (I) include anabolic or oestrogenic steroids, Vitamin D (or its metabolites), P-contg. cpds., cpds. contg. inorganic fluoride, Ca salts and calcitonin. Also new are compsns. (B) contg. (II) plus an antiinflammatory steroid, and compsns. (C), esp. toothpastes, gargles, animal feeds, and feed premixes, contg. (II). Compsns. (A) and (C) are used to treat or prevent pathological states caused by mineral resorption (e.g. periodontal disease, milk fever, Paget disease, rheumatoid polyarthritis etc.), and (B) prevent mineral resorption induced by the antiinflammatory.
