titleOfInvention COLLOIDAL WATER DISPERSION OF A URETHANE UREA POLYMER
abstract A stable aqs. colloidal dispersion of urea-urethane polymer salt is infinitely dilutable with water. The salt is a tert. amine salt of a urea-urethane polymer prepd. by reacting a isocyanate-terminated urethane prepolymer (I) with a polyamine having an average of \-2.2 prim. or sec. amine groups per molecule. The prepolymer (I) is the reaction product of an aliphatic, alicyclic, toluene or xylene diisocyanate with a polyol having carboxylic gps. which are relatively unreactive with isocyanates. Prepolymer (I) has an acid value of 17 to 60. Used as a coating compsn. providing a more water resistant coating than a dispersion stabilised by emulsifiers.
