titleOfInvention | FUNGICIDAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING COMPOUNDS OF IMIDAZOLES AND PROCEDURE TO PRODUCE AND APPLY THEM |
abstract | Fungicidal complex cpds. (I) consist of a metal salt (II) and an imidazole of formula (III) (R1 is alkyl, esp. 2-4C; R2 is benzyl or phenoxyalkyl, opt. substd. in the ring). Pref. R2 is a gp. where X is CH2 or CH2CH2O; Y is halo; a=0-4; Z is 1-3C alkyl and b = 0-1. Esp. the metal is Cu or Mn and its counter-anion chloride. (I) are made by reacting (II) and (III) in a medium contg. an organic solvent. Useful in plant-protection by application to seeds, plants or soil. They are esp. useful for treating broad-leaved plants such as fruit-trees, vegetables, vines and pumpkins. (I) can also be used to protect dyes, glues, textiles, paper etc. against spoilage by fungi. Compared with (III) they are easier to handle and formulate. In an example, the bis - 1-left brace N-propyl-N-2-(2,4,6-trichlorophenoxy)ethylcarbamoyl right brace imidazole Cu (II) chloride complex was prepd. |
