abstract | Polynuclear heterocyclic cpds. of formula (I) are new: where R1 is H, halogen, OH, lower alkyl, alkoxy or haloalkyl, opt. substd. aryl, NR7R8, COOR7, CONR7R8 or a gp. of formula (a) or (b): R7 and R8 are H, lower alkyl, opt. substd. aryl or aralkyl, acyl or substd. 1,3,5-triazinyl, or NR7R8 is a heterocyclic ring; Y1 is opt. substd. o-phenylene, opt. substd. o- or peri-naphthylene or opt. substd. PhX1-o-phenylene; X1 is a direct bond, O, CO, SO2, NHCO or lower alkylene; Y2 is 1,2,4,5-benzenetetrayl or naphthalenetetrayl in which the bonds are paired in ortho or perio posns., or Ar-X2-Ar, where Ar is benzenetriyl and X2 is CO, CO2, CONH or lower alkylene, or Y2 is a gp. of formula (c): Q1 is a monovalent gp. formed by removing R1 from (I). R2 is H, halogen, lower alkyl, OH, lower alkoxy, lower haloalkyl, or is as defined for gps. (a) and (b). R3,R5 and R6 are H, halogen, OH, CN, lower alkyl, alkoxy or haloalky, COOR7, CONR7R8 or as defined for gp. (b), R4 is H halogen, lower alkyl, alkyoxy or haloalkyl, opt. substd. aryl, CN, NR7R8, COOR7 or CONR7R8; Y is Y5 or Y6 is Q3; Y5 is as defined for Y1; Y6 is as defined for Y2; Q3 is a divalent gp. formed by removing Y from (I). (I) are orange to reddish-violet pigments useful for colouring plastics and as component of lacquers, printing inks paints, textile printing pastes, etc. They have good thermal and ageing stability and good dispersability in polymers. |
