abstract | 1420376 9,10-Dihydroanthracenes RICHARDSON-MERRELL Inc 17 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972] 58259/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula I wherein R 1 is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms; A is ethylene or propylene; R 2 and R 3 are each lower alkyl having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms or when taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached represent the pyrrolidinyl, piperidino or morpholino radical; R 4 is hydrogen or the radical with the proviso that one and only one such R 4 group is hydrogen; and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof are prepared by reacting a compound of Formula IV with an organometallic compound R 1 CH 2 M wherein M is Li, half a mole of magnesium or MgX, X is halogen, in the presence of a dehydrating agent if necessary. 2,6 - Bis - (2 - diethylaminoethoxy) - anthraquinone is obtained by reaction of 2,6-dihydroxyanthraquinone with diethylaminoethyl chloride. Antiviral compositions in conventional forms for oral, parenteral or topical administration comprise an above novel compound and an excipient. (From GB1420376 A) [FR2211234A1] |
