titleOfInvention A compost composition comprising a milled peat and abiotic sand mixture
abstract A compost composition comprising a milled peat and abiotic sand mixture; said milled peat having the following physical characteristics (a) a compressibility of 1.1:1 to 1.5:1, (b) substantially 100% of the milled peat particles passing through a sieve of 10.6mm aperture (c) a water absorption of form 1 to 10g per gram of dry peat solids (d) a low bulk density of 5- 30g per litre @ 50% moisture content (e) a dry weight of 0.056 û 0.80g per ml (f) a pH within the range of 3.8 to 4.5 (g) free from both the presence of Globodera pallichia and globodera rostochiersis; and the said aboitic sand having the following physical characteristics (a) particles size from 0.125mm û 7mm in diameter (b) free from both the presence of globodera pallichia and globodera rostochiersis. The peat may be a blend of peats which may not individually meet the requirements as set out above, but which does so as a composite blend. The peat may also be of a wide range of types providing it satisfies the requirements as set out above.
