abstract | 1. A process for the acylation of 7-amino-cephem derivatives, which comprises converting an acylating component of the formula I see diagramm : EP0002774,P20,F1 in which R**1 is alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl, 2-furyl or thiazolyl of the formula see diagramm : EP0002774,P20,F2 in which R4 is hydroxy, amino, alkenylamino having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, formamino or acetamino optionally substituted by chlorine, bromine, fluorine, phenoxy or by 1,3,4-thiadiazolylthio in turn substituted by methyl or amino ; R5 is hydrogen, halogen, cyano, thiocyano, hydroxy or alkoxycarbonyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety ; R**2 and R**3 together are oxygen or a group of the formula VIII =N-X which preferably has the syn configuration, and in which X is hydroxy, alkoxy having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, benzyloxy, p-chlorobenzyloxy, triphenylmethoxy, aminocarbonylmethoxy, tert-butoxycarbonylmethoxy, methoxycarbonylmethoxy, ethoxycarbonylmethoxy, cyanomethoxy, allyloxy, bromallyl-oxy, phenoxy or acyloxy having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms ; with a 1-hydroxybenzotriazole of the general formula II see diagramm : EP0002774,P20,F3 in which R**6 through R**9, being identical or different, each are hydrogen, alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halogen, cyano, nitro, aminocarboxy, alkylaminocarboxy having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, aminosulfonyl, alkylaminosulfonyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, dialkylaminosulfonyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety ; to an active derivative, and subsequently reacting the latter one with a 7-aminocephem derivative. |
