abstract | A pharmacologically acceptable bile acid sequestering agent composition which after the prolonged action of moist air does not stick and is free-flowing, contains an essentially uniform adsorbate of a quaternary ionic polymer on a finely divided, water-insoluble, solid, pharmacologically acceptable aggregate having a large surface-to-mass ratio. The composition is prepared by mixing the component in aqueous solution, evaporating the water and drying the adsorbate thus formed. The composition described can be used for the reduction of cholesterol in the blood. |
