abstract | 1516916 Animal feedstuffs containing Aureolic acid group antibiotics IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 26 April 1977 [19 May 1976] 20675/76 Heading A5B Compositions for administration to meatproducing domestic animals to improve feed efficiency and growth rate comprise a compound of the aureolic acid group as hereinafter defined, and a nutritionally balanced animal foodstuff, an inert solid diluent of no nutritional value, or starch or lactose. Aureolic acid group compounds are as follows; aureolic acid; any of mithramycins A, B and C; any of aburamycins A, B, D (also known as chromomycins A 2 , A 3 and A 4 ) and C; any of olivomycins A, B, C and D; compounds known as antibiotics 232, 2014, 7193 and 11296; variamycin; and ammonium, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or transition metal salts, complexes or chelates of the said compounds. The aureolic acid group compounds may be administered per se in a method according to the invention, to meatproducing domestic animals (e.g. chickens, turkeys, ducks, geese, pigs, sheep, cattle or rabbits) or in drinking water, whole milk or skim milk. The compositions are in the form of pre-mix concentrates, or supplemented feedstuffs for direct feeding to the animals. |
