abstract 1497500 Phenoxypropanolamine derivatives BAYER AG 21 Oct 1976 [23 Oct 1975] 43725/76 Heading C2C Compounds of the general formula (R, R1 = alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy, carbalkoxy, Cl; R11 = diphenylmethyl, fluorenyl) and their salts and condensation products with aldehydes, ketones and carbonic acid are prepared by standard methods, e.g. (a) reacting a corresponding halo compound or oxirane with R11NH 2 , (b) converting the corresponding primary amine to the secondary amine, (c) introducing the propanolamine side chain or (d) hydrolysing an appropriate oxazolidine or tetrahydropyranyl ether. The preparation of the oxiranes is described. The above compounds combat cerebrovascular insufficiency, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
